Every year, thousands of pregnant women across the UK attend a routine ultrasound scan at around 20 weeks. These scans are vital for checking how babies are developing — but there are a number of technical and practical reasons why accuracy and quality can vary.
The FRAIYA Study is a new NHS-supported research trial testing whether AI (artificial intelligence) can help make these scans better and if AI's use is cost effective.
